A BLOCK option

Post by DestinoRidge »

I’m not sure what the point of the “foe” list is for if that person can still contact/view you in a sense. If I put “no low balls” on a sale add and am offered a DOLLAR to 2k for said horse by the same person I want to be able to BLOCK them I don’t want to see another offer on the horse from that same person for 2 dollars more.

Bumping this - if I foe someone I do NOT want them buying my horses! Particularly due to “horse-flippers” who buy horses and immediately resell them at a higher cost. :/ But also... IRL if I don’t like you I wouldn’t trust you with my animals.

I'm not sure if I'm for or against this.
I would certainly like to be able to have the ability to wholly ignore somebody if I choose to.

But to ignore everything with one click may defeat the purpose of being a community and working toward becoming better within the community.

Also, I don't know how much behind-the-scene it would take to start making changes like that, for instance, once blocked as a 'foe' to choose to ignore offers and messages separately...

If there is more debate or opinion on this, I'll need to be convinced to throw in my points one way or the other.

And that's my opinion right now. :)

I think that if the reason you want the block option is someone giving offers on horses and only going up a small amount each time you reject the offer; perhaps there should be a 'minimum bid' option.

For the other problem of people reselling the horses - what might be easier is having their username highlighted/boxed in red if someone is on your foe list. (I'm not sure if the foe list does this already or not - I haven't used it before.)

Oh! I really like this!
I agree with this and would actually like at least the minimum bid option offered.

Well, the thing is, for non-premium players - or players selling their horses at a set price (not “offers only”) - you can’t stop someone you’ve currently “blocked” from buying your horse. Anyone at all can buy them. :(

IRL, you could prevent someone from buying a horse you’re selling directly, and it’s very common practice, since, sadly, dishonest (and worse!) behaviour is so common. I see no reason why HWO shouldn’t allow individuals to police their sales in the same manner.
