Murakosi Breeding Project
Hi all!
This is my secondary account, and I've recently been breeding Mustangs. As I was looking around the site this morning, however, I came across an extinct breed, the Murakosi. I did a little research, and it soon became clear to me why the breed is extinct. Here is the formula for the Murakosi breed:
Murakosi = [ArdennaisxPercheron]x[NorikerxHungarian Warmblood]
Ardennais', Percherons, and Norikers and (somewhat) easy to get a hold of, whether it be through sales or studs, but Hungarian Warmbloods are not, which means I must breed some of my own. Here is the formula for the Hungarian Warmblood breed:
Hungarian Warmblood=[FuriosoxKisber Felver]x[Dutch WarmbloodxHanoverian]
Furiosos, Dutch Warmbloods, and Hanoverians are all (kind of) easy to get as well, be it through sales or studs, but the Kisber Felver is definitely not, since there are only 19 active horses, and none are for stud, let alone sale. This means that, in order to breed my own Hungarian Warmbloods, I must breed my own Kisber Felvers as well. Here is the formula for the Kisber Felver breed:
Kisber Felver =[ThoroughbredxGidran]x[TrekhnerxSelle Francais]
Thoroughbreds, Trekhners, Selle Francais' and Gidrans ALL have at least one or two horses for stud or sale, but when I looked into Gidrans for stud, neither of the two options even had enough energy to breed! Looks like I'll have to breed my own Gidrans, too. Here's the formula for the Gidran breed:
Gidran=[ThoroughbredxShagya Arabian]xAnglo-Arabian
Looking at this formula, a sense of relief floods over me. Finally, there is something that I can accomplish to bring this breed back! But, as I have shown, the road to breeding a Murakosi is a very, very long and tedious one, which is why I started this farm log. I will be posting my triumphs here (and hopefully there will be lots!
), and I'll be bringing Murakosi awareness to the community of HWO!
Thank you in advance for following me on this journey!

Re: Murakosi Breeding Project
Hi all!
My Thoroughbred mare just had her foal, and it's a filly! This is some serious good luck, since it will be easy to find an Anglo-Arab stud (hopefully)! Here's the link:

Let's hope this stroke of luck lasts!
Edit: Just bought a Thoroughbred filly and another Thoroughbred mare so that I can start breeding for Gidran prospects.

Re: Murakosi Breeding Project
That’s great! If there is any way I could help with breeding some horses (like posting stallions for stud or selling some of my horses or breeding horses for the breed) just quote me! But if I were to help, is there any way you could breed me a pair?horsesfurever1 wrote:Hi all!

Re: Murakosi Breeding Project
Your help would be much appreciated! And yes, if you were to help me, I would love to breed a pair for you! Please keep in mind, though, that it will take a while for me to actually have Murakosis. But I would love to get the breed out there, to keep it from going extinct again. Thank you for your offer!Horselove13 wrote:That’s great! Re: Murakosi Breeding Project
Nothing for the moment, but I will let you know when I do need something! Thank you again!Horselove13 wrote:What could I do for you?horsesfurever1 wrote: Your help would be much appreciated! Edit: If you have any Anglo-Arabian mares/fillies that you would be willing to part with, or Anglo-Arabian studs that you own/know of, that would be very helpful!

Re: Murakosi Breeding Project
Update: I have recently had two ThoroughbredxShagya-Arabs, one filly and one colt! I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the colt, so if anyone wants him, he is up for grabs!

Re: Murakosi Breeding Project
Anglo arabs are thoroughbred and Arab, right? If so, I just won a whole bunch of thoroughbred horses from a barn name competition (the name chosen was Harlow way equestrian center btw) and I can breed you some for $1 cuz I don’t know how to give them free. If I’m wrong about the Anglo Arab recipe (or whatever it’s called) just tell me and I’ll start on that.horsesfurever1 wrote:Nothing for the moment, but I will let you know when I do need something! Edit: I am in the process of breeding an Anglo Arab for you. I got the recipe slightly wrong in my other paragraph (it is actually (thoroughbred x Arabian) x thoroughbred)
On a side note, should I friend u so we can keep touch for updates? If not that’s totally fine

That sounds great! I would breed some of my own Anglo-Arabs, but I kind of have my hands full...Horselove13 wrote:Anglo arabs are thoroughbred and Arab, right? And yes, we can officially become partners if you would like. Thank you again!
