Red Rowan Stables Connemara Breeding Project
Hey there! Connemaras are my favourite breed, so I wanted to start breeding them in Horse World Online!
I've been playing HWO for only a couple of months, but I decided I wanted to create my favourite breed, the Connemara pony, from scratch.
Here are the cross-breeding directions I'm following:
(Przewalski's Horse x Tarpan) x Tarpan = Mongolian
(Tarpan x Mongolian) x (Tarpan x West African Barb) = Sorraia
(Sorraia x Carthucian) x (Sorraia x West African Barb) = Andalusian
Forest Horse x (Arabian x Andalusian) = Friesian
Exmoor Pony x (Exmoor Pony x Friesian) = Galloway
(Arabian x North African Barb) x (Akhal Teke x Galloway) = Thoroughbred
Thoroughbred x (Arabian x North African Barb) = Cleveland Bay
(Thoroughbred x Cleveland Bay) x Cleveland Bay = Norfolk Trotterr
(Arabian x Norfolk Trotter) x (Norfolk Trotter x Thoroughbred) = Hackney
(Thoroughbred x Hackney) x (Exmoor Pony x Arabian) = Welsh Mountain
(Welsh Mountain x Hackney) x (Norfolk Trotter x Spanish Barb) = Welsh Cob
(Spanish Jennet x Thoroughbred) x (Arabian x Welsh Cob) = Connemara
Key:
Green - Completed
Violet - Uncompleted
Orange - Final goal
So, as you can see, I have a long way to go!
Breeding goals:
-Keep COI at 0%
-Raise HGP
-Use my own stock where possible
-Improve stats to Greens, maybe even Golds
-Produce Connemaras in pure Connemara colours only (Grey, black, brown, bay, dun, roan, chestnut, palomino and cream)
I also want to have two lines, so when a Connemara is produced I can breed with my own stock and also avoid inbreeding.
*
The first breed I need to create is a Mongolian, and to do that I need to cross a Przewalski's Horse with a Tarpan, then breed the result with another Tarpan.
I bred my beloved Tarpan (and first ever
)stallion, Milky, with my Przewalski's mare, Tea.
RR On My Milky Way

RR Tea Or Coffee

They created a RR Milk in my Tea, a filly who has no highlights, but a few positive comments (her parents have just negative comments but no reds) which I'm very happy about!
RR Milk in my Tea

I also bred my (even more beloved first) Tarpan mare Star with my Przewalski's stallion Sunny. Star hasn't given birth yet, but I'm a bit apprehensive about the breeder's report as Sunny has a red
RR Shining Star

RR Sun Tan

And a couple days later... say hello to RR Second Sun Star! No highlights
and a few positive comments! I'm so pleased!
Now I have to wait for my two girls to age to four years old before I can progress further...

Re: Red Rowan Stables Connemara Breeding Project
You are much more patient than I...I randomly decided to start trying for Connemaras because I keep ending up with short Arabians, lol. But just finding the four immediate cross breeds is HARD because none of them seem to be the correct build! If you need a team buddy, I'd be happy to help out if needed. I'm kind of enjoying the challenge of having to think through this.
I do need to figure out how on earth breeding for certain heights work in this game, because when I think I'm going to have a good height match, the foal ends up crazy tall or crazy short...
