【ℤA】Training Service: CLOSED

Post by Ziel »

【ℤiel’s Acres Training Service】

ℤiel's Acres is a breeding and training facility with the main goal of bettering the breeds we work with by producing healthy, attractive, well-rounded animals.

We are now offering training to the public in order to supplement our income, as we no longer have the desire to train the majority of our own horses for showing.
_____________________________________________________________________

RULES AND DETAILS
I have a total of 8 stalls in my training barn.
Slots are first come, first serve - I will not hold slots!
I will not take horses over 16yrs old. Foals will not start training until 2yrs old.
Horses will be trained up to 80%+ in all stats, in around 3 in-game years and 1 RL week.
Photos will be taken upon arrival, at breeding age, and upon completion of training.
All horses will have their weight adjusted to moderate - I do not alter temperament.
Finished horses will be held on a frozen side account for max 2 weeks.
Horses that are not picked up within 2 weeks of finishing will be sold.
Players that fail to pick up their horses will be blacklisted / blocked.
Players that are otherwise disrespectful will be warned, and / or blacklisted / blocked.
These rules and my price are subject to change at my discretion.

I am currently charging $15k per horse, and you ARE free to resell for higher.
You will pay the cost via offer when picking up your horse.

Just curious, why don't you take horses under 1 year of age? :)

I don't take horses under 1 year old because their diet changes at around 6 months of age, and - if I'm correct from what I can recall with my own experience - they can't be put in a barn until after 1yr at LEAST because they're often restricted to a small feed weight. This means even if I put them on weight gain mix (the lowest weight food for the highest feed percent), it'll be too much weight and they won't be getting enough to eat. :(

I personally start training at around 2 years of age on my own horses, since their feed amount is stable by then, and it's the age at which I can tell if those in my appearance-based programs will turn out nicely or not.

If I am mistaken and 1 year olds STILL can't be put in a barn due to feed weight amount, I will change this and only start training at two years of age.

That makes sense! :) However, I think you can put foals at 6 months in a partially mowed pasture and adjust the grass and feed to equal 100%.. you'd have to try it out and let me know if it works! :)

Well, my personal horses get stuck in pastures to grow out until they're about 2. But it's far easier to keep track of horses I need to train / slots I have available if they can be in the training barn from the get-go.

Hi I have some horses I was wondering if you could train. They are both Thoroughbreds and are around 1-2 years old.

Hi there! While this says "open", I just had something come up today IRL and depending on how things work out, I MIGHT not be able to - I will know by next week. I'm going to mark this as closed, but if you want I can ping you next week if I can take you, and see if you're still interested by then? ^^;

Short version - I'm going to be a working student at a professional equestrian facility IRL. If I can't take my iPad or laptop with me, I won't be able to get on HWO anywhere from one month to six months. So sorry about this! It was a REALLY sudden decision!

UPDATE - Training is open again!

The place I tried doing a working student program was too physically demanding, and basically expected me to split the upkeep of a 48 stall barn with 100 or so horses with the other three (or sometimes two) guys working there. Six days a week, 7am to 8pm, minimal breaks. :( I didn't grow up in the industry, I'm not an athlete, their program is not for me - my body physically broke down by the third day. Therefore, I'll be looking for a less demanding / shorter part-time position locally.

If anything, I came out of it with more experience handling fussy horses on a lead. So there's that.
