Many Many Suggestions
Ok, so I've been playing for 2 weeks now, and I just want to say: This game is amazing. I'm loving it, and I think that the developers and artists and testers and everyone else involved in its creation deserve a hearty congratulations.
That said, I have a whole bunch of suggestions! Some of them are very simple to implement, others are more complicated. Some might not fit into Larissar's vision for the game. Some may be on their way, and I just don't know cos I'm a noob. Probably some have been suggested before.
But, nothing ventured, nothing gained! So here I go.
Player Menu
Home Screen
- Show current number of horses
- Show current number of pregnant mares
- Show current number of stallions for stud
Learning > Horse Ownership
Researching Horse Management is super expensive. I'm up to Intermediate Horse Management II lvl 4, and getting 2 more horse slots will cost me almost 6K and 3.5 hours. I propose that the price and time structure stays the same, but that the number of horse slots associated with each course change.
So
- Basic Horse Management I = +1 max horses (for each level)
- Basic Horse Management II = +2 max horses
- Intermediate Horse Managment I = +3 max horses
- Intermediate Horse Management II = +4 max horses
and so on.
Money Management
- A banking page would be really handy. Something that tracks incoming and outgoing transactions so that I can see where my money comes from and where it goes.
Competitions Menu
Upcoming Events Page
- Filters (Event Type, Breed, Age, Gender, Level, Prize (max + min), Entry Fee (max + min))
- Mark entered events in some way
My Events
- Ability to edit the event name of recurring events
- Ability to edit an event that has no participants
(rather than delete then recreate just to change a typo in the name...)
Event Results
- I would like to be able to choose between the current page (which displays a list of competitions that have been recently judged) and another page which displays a list of my horses that have been in competitions that were recently judged.
I envision it as having the categories:
Horse | Event | Score | Prize Money | Place | Competitors | Date Judged

- check box to search only for pregnant mares
- Ability to search descriptions for key words
Stallions for Stud
- Ability to search descriptions for key words
Book Store
- Book descriptions could contain the breed recipe

- It would be cool if you got a notification if you make it into the rankings. I just discovered I am 17th for Endurance, and 18th for Show Jumping, and I had no idea.
- As an addendum to that, it would be nice if there was a place on your horses profile page where their overall rank in their breed is displayed.

- It would be neat to be able to search the farm directory
- A random 'showcase' farm at the top of the page might be nice.
My Farm
Horse Management/Overview page
- This is an idea for a new page. I would like to be able to see an overview of all of my horses at a glance. Mostly details that are important for their care, rather than things like breed or height.
- Should display all horses owned
- Lists: Name | Age | Weight | Pregnant | Stud | Sale | Energy/Fatigue bars | Feed Estimated Energy bar
Farm Page
- When veiwing a farm page it would be nice to be able to see the short description of the farm, if one has been provided.
Feeding and Weight Management
- Making babies takes a lot of energy! Perhaps pregnant horses could use more energy/ eat more pasture. maybe not two horses worth, but perhaps at least 1.5 horses worth? I find that if I have a couple of pregnant mares in a pasture they don't eat enough to allow me to manage everyones weight. This makes brood mares tricky to manage.
Local Shows
- I have horses that compete at lvl 10 in player competitions that can't win first place in the same discipline in local competitions at higher than level 3. So I would really like it if there was an explanation of what the scores mean when I enter my horses into local shows. Things like what the 'condition penalty' is and advice for how to overcome it.
- Also, a blurb about what the competition is would be handy too. Just a short discription with a veiled reference to what traits / build / horse type is best for it.
Gallery
- I love it! Would it be possible for just one photo to be automatically taken of a horse tho? Just one when they reach breeding age. I hate it when my horses pedigree has blank spaces where I can't see what the horse looked like, and they are already deceased so I can't check.

No replies, after almost 2 weeks? *sound of a tumbling tumbleweed rolling down the main street of a one-road, no-sheriff town*
I would also really welcome a tally of total horses owned on the home screen or the home screen for My Farm. Or on my main Player screen...anywhere, really. A tally that includes in-utero foals, since they are counted as taking up space.

Most of these have already been suggested, some even multiple times. That's the reason why there hasn't been a reply.

We do read the suggestions, a lot of things are in the works. HWO is very much still in active development.

I really like a lot of these suggestions, namely:

-- how many horses I have vs. how many empty slots left would also be super helpful esp as I'm approaching 200 now!
-- a way to search for horse by name. I currently have 7 pastures of TB broodmares so it's not always easy to find one of them!
-- which horses have feed settings turned on. It is almost impossible to find which horses are costing me money in feed, esp if I've bought some with feed settings turned on and only notice the money is going out a few days later. Doesn't have to be on the homepage but would be good to have this somewhere.

Local Shows
I've noticed the same thing -- I only use this feature now to get some extra money and leave it on Level 1, even for my Level 10 horses, because Levels 5+ seem nigh on impossible. I wondered if perhaps when horses get "better" in the game through better breeding this would change, but I have a green speed TB mare with a +21 speed conformation bonus who is fully trained, a multiple Grand Champion, and L10 currently who can't get past L5 on the local spring racing shows so I do wonder how much better she could possibly be! She doesn't seem to be much better at local shows than when she was born and at 0 training, tbh.
The only other thing I really, really want is a competition filter when searching for competitions on the Comp page because this takes forever currently and requires lots of Ctr+F'ing on my part. It would also be good to be able to do this from the horse's individual page, and to see your horse's results there (I have no idea, for example, how fast my horses are running in races unless I'm lucky enough to catch them just after they've run in the results page... or if they break a record!). But I think that may already be coming?
