Arabian breeding from scratch

Post by KYTrainer »

Hey guys. I have started to breed Arabians from scratch and I am wondering if anyone is to! And if so, can we compare our stock? Thanks in advance!
Thanks,
KYTrainer

Do you know what your standards are going to be with Arabians?

Dishy face, very light horse type, 4 or 5 on evaluation, long legs, high tail placement, and long, elegant necks.

I've got similar standards. I'm trying to get the high tail placement though.

My standards are this (I'm not going to list a few of them, since they are similar to yours. Most are in the conformation area):

1. a thick jowl
2. thin legs
3. No dilutions
4. must be a solid color but can have face/leg markings
5. a short head
6. No red stats
7. at least 1 gold/green stat but Intelligence can't be the 1 gold/green. Ex: green in intelligence and in balance is good but just green in intelligence is not.
8. sloping shoulder angle
9. low shoulder point
10. deep rib cage

Here's one of my horses who meets nearly all of my standards:

Crusader

Nice horse! None of my horses meet my standereds yet, since they are all AC and first-generation horses. Someday when they are high HGP I plan on getting them trained and selling spares for extra money.

Here are some foals that I have bred so far. I try to plan out my breedings to get rid of red stats and achieve green/gold stats.

Thanks! It took me weeks to get this far, even then, I'm still trying to improve my line even more. I could help you if you would like me to. I can lend you a mare or put a stallion up for stud, even if some of them are fairly old, to help you improve your AC Arabians.

It’s fine. They are closed lines right now. It just helps my determination by talking about your success and plans( and stuff :D)

Okay. :D It took me a long time to find a good stallion that had thicker jowls. If you need any help and/or suggestions, you can contact me. ;)
