Re: Horse feed
It depends on what you're looking to accomplish and the age of the in-training horse.caitlynbreeder wrote:What is the best feed to put horses /goals on feed in a barn while training them!!
If you need to just make sure the horse has energy every round and is an adult, then corn or weight gain will fill the need.
If you need to ensure complete energy the horse is still growing (under 5 years), then I recommend weight gain.
If you need to maintain temperament that's much more difficult. Regardless of the age of the horse, you'll need one that can eat a lot of food. Maintaining temperament is usually accomplished by some combination of alfalfa cubes, performance and weight gain. But you'll need to adjust it from time to time because temperament of each horse will move either slowly or quickly.

If you're trying to keep weight on them, then go with weight gain.caitlynbreeder wrote:It's got young horses under 4 I'm trying to get different training done to give them a good chance to become a champion
As long as they can eat enough, weight gain's the ticket.
If the horse's can't eat enough, then you'll have to train them while in pasture and supplement their feed with weight gain.
