A quick update on National Secret- HE BROKE 10:20!!!
At least, he did in locals testing... and I'm working on throwing him in player comps. He scored 10:19.01 (at high strung- if I lower his temp a touch more he could do better) which is almost exactly 4 seconds off of my first time goal!

Whew! It's been a while since I last updated this, but I've finally gotten a notable colt (out of the previous stud I posted, no less)
National Velvet
This handsome guy has tested just above 10:15 in locals so far. I might be able to tweak temp and weight enough to get him under that barrier. As of posting this, he only has three results, one of which is just above 10:18. Considering how far from optimal his build still is, I think in the next few generations I should be able to get under 10:15 and start working towards my next goal- 10:10!

Whew. I have not updated this in... a WHILE.
I got a new prospect! He's been pulling 10:14s in locals every once in a while (the earliest being BEFORE HE TURNED 2) and I'm hopeful that once he reaches full size and I can control for weight and temp properly he'll be able to get under 10:14. He's not the first to pull sub-10:15s but I think I forgot to post whoever did that here.

He is in fact my first sub- 10:15 horse! I do have one who pulled just over 10:15s in locals, who went on and had a very successful steeplechasing career, with his best time here.
