I just joined today, so if somebody can give me some pointers at what horses are best for what, then I would very much appreciate it.
If you have any questions BlackOak2 is very helpful, I can also answer some. (Or you can ask anyone really) As for your money question. The best way to earn money here is by training and selling or using a grinder. Training and selling ; Choose cheap but nice horses from the market, train them, then I would sell or auction them off. If you learn how to train you can make big money off of that. Just some tips, racing thoroughbreds are very poplar, some can be sold for millions of dollars. Trainers are in-demand. There are a lot of boarding/champing services. If you need money now I could give you a bit.

(BlackOak2 wrote this part about grinders)
To choose a grinder potential from the market, find one that is between HGP 45,000 and 65,000, no red stats, try to find only average or better stats (those are the BR comments). You're not upgraded so you can't see scores, but don't worry about seeing the conformation scores. That doesn't affect grinders that much.
Chose those that are 3 years and under to train. Base price is negotiable. Most people do like to know what to grind their grinder at, so by including what the horse pulls level 9 and 10 in locals at, is helpful. Try in-hand comps first, sometimes that's the spot. For light-style horses, try racing or english, for heavier, try driving or western. You should get your answer fairly fast.

You should be able to drop-sell (quick-sell) a grinder for at least $25,000 in no time at all. So that really should be your bottom price.

Oh! And welcome to the game

How I champ is just by entering the horse in all of the competitions in that discipline. It's pretty fast :)

Yeah, but I usually champ 30% lowest win, instead of 75% since that seems really high to me :) Just depends on how easy you want it to be!

Soaring Hooves wrote:So, you're probably going to want to know why I'm making this chat, so here's your answer: I think we should all be more of a community. Yeah, we have our clubs that we certain breeds with, or for certain disciplines. But, the truth is, we don't work together as we say we're going to. So… I have an idea! We should all fill out this short form that I've created so that we can know a little more about each other's status in the game and our goals. If this works, we can all help each other be better players. Also, here people can ask questions that the more experienced players can answer(I don't consider myself 'more experienced' :) ). If anyone feels this as an intrusion of privacy, please ping me to say so. I really do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable or unsafe because of me. I sincerely promise that I only want to make this game more enjoyable and fun for everyone. My hope is that we can all learn to help everyone, no matter who they are. Anyways, here's the form:
Player Name:
Status (In need of money, Millionaire, etc.):
Account Age(Newbie, Junior, Senior, etc.):
Goals:
Clubs(That you participate in):
Services for the community (If any):
Things that you need help with (If any):
Ways that you're willing to help others:
Questions:
Anything else that you want to add.
Example:
Player Name: Soaring Hooves
Status: Good. $28,299,217
Goals: I want to produce the fastest horses possible to make incredible Racers and Sprint Racers, learn how to train well
Clubs: United Arabian Breeders Club, Champ Racers Breeding Club, a few others
Services for the community: Champing, custom breeding
Things that I need help with: Learning how to more money faster, I sorta suck at that
Ways that I'm willing to help others: Any way I can
Questions: I'm wondering what stats are best for what disciplines, I know speed is good for racing and sprint racing, and stamina is good for endurance, but I'm wondering if the most experienced players could make a table of sorts with the information that they know?
I hope that this idea helps everyone :D
Player Name: Strawberry Unicorn (Previously known as SwordSwallower)
Status (In need of money, Millionaire, etc.): Okay/Good 5,695,648 and 206 PT

Things that you need help with (If any): Hmm, Not sure
Ways that you're willing to help others: I can give money, advice and horses! :)

Clubs(That you participate in): BBC
Services for the community (If any): I sorta champ and board
Things that you need help with (If any): How is the best way to train? I am not that good yet, and probably that's mostly because I have only about 2% extra training skills
Ways that you're willing to help others: any way I can
Questions: Oh... I already asked my question.
Anything else that you want to add: nope! love this idea, BTW
How is the best way to train?
This is a question we all come to at some point. Even myself, if you're thinking along that route. We all use the same training guide to get us moving. At some point we also all move slightly away from it. The good thing is, we don't have to. It's a solid guide that will get even public trainers on the right track to training fast, efficiently and thoroughly. Most of what and when we move away from it, is most often for style-specific training (like sprint training or log pull, there is no need to fully train for a horse that will only be used for that).
