They make such nice, eye-catching foals. I like the line you can draw on her neck. Follows her neck vertebra almost perfectly.Silverine wrote:Wanted to share this filly with everyone. She's another large spot with nice empty patches in her pattern.

Re: Leopard Patterns - Information and open discussion
First batch from the AC black belgian.
I had hoped for more of a batch. One that was overwhelmingly obvious, but isn't that what we all want! This is what this stud has already been offering with my stock. I'm setting them up for another round.
Edit: rehomed this batch of offspring. No proof of theory.

Re: Leopard Patterns - Information and open discussion
The two from my Knabs don't surprise me at all. Those girls are more likely to only have one copy of the extension gene. I was a little surprised by the chestnut one until I looked back through the dam's pedigree and realized I'd crossed a chestnut in there not too long ago. That last one is cute, too bad he's a colt. Hopefully you have better luck with the next batch.BlackOak2 wrote:

Second batch is a little disappointing, but far from unexpected.

At least the back ends on the foals from the mixed breed mares are usually fairly well covered. So he has at least some staying power.BlackOak2 wrote:

Indeed.Silverine wrote:

I plan on keeping going until these mare's disappear, although their 2 year-old foals will disappear regularly. Or until I get a proving foal.
It's kind of funny... these pairs are giving me almost identical patterns.

Apparently Secret Night really likes to throw chestnuts for you. I'm very interested to see what sort of pattern the baby will have when the parents finally get their acts together and don't throw red.BlackOak2 wrote:

Ditto doesn't cover how much I agree with you on this.Silverine wrote:

Fourth batch of offspring. Secret Night finally threw me a black, but she didn't offer me anything different from the others. Still no proof of theory.
