Re: ages??
Baranduin is correct (at least I also think this way as well).MajesticMare wrote:I'm still confused on when a horse will retire.
So, what your saying is a horse can retire at any age OR is there more to it?
Adding to this, a horse with an owner comment of 'retired' can also mean that they are no longer of use to the project they were a part of.
In my case, since I only keep very limited numbers of offspring from each horse, I may retire a mare on her 5th or 6th birthday with only one or two foals and a stud, I may retire as early as their 4th birthday.
Each player is different and handles their own projects differently.

Re: ages??
Oh, Ok. Thank You. I understand now

Grand champion
How do you get your horse to become a grand champion, or a champion?

Re: Grand champion
You need to get a certain amount of points from entering player created competitions. How many points you get is determined by what place your horse got in the results.wolfscout wrote:How do you get your horse to become a grand champion, or a champion?
Here's how many points your horse needs to get each title for a certain discipline (Example: A horse can get a Champion in Racing and a Grand Champion in Sprint Racing):
Champion (Ch.) - 200 points
Grand Champion (GCh.) - 700
Master Champion (MCh.) - 1500
Master Grand Champion (MGCh.) - 3000
Supreme Champion (SCh.) - 4900
Supreme Grand Champion (SGCh.) - 7300
Supreme Master Grand Champion (SMGCh.) - 10000

colt 3 mare 4

Re: ages??
The ages can very past 25 though, one such example is my 32 year old mare, though her continuous aging is definitely aided by the fact that she is pregnant all the time.

Re: ages??
I find that horses can vary from a horse living 19-26 (on average, at least on my farm). However, you can keep mares alive longer by keeping her pregnant all the time. (can't die in pregnancy)

The age of chance-of-death is still 17 years. A horse can still be retired by the game as early as 17 years and two weeks. I suspect when the competition update comes to us (expected sometime today), the age will be 17 years and 1 week. But this chance is significantly slim. In all my time here, I have only had one horse go at 17 years and 2 weeks, which was years ago, quite literally.
In all that time, I've only had one other horse go within their 17th year.
Thereafter, I've had a small number (maybe 2 or three) go in their 18th year and the same in their 19th year.
But I've had enough leave in their 20th year to understand that chances are fair, starting at 20.
By 23, it's about a 50/50 chance that the horses are expected to disappear.
But I've also had a countable amount live naturally into their 27th year and later. The oldest stallion I've had (I think) reached 29 and I've had a mare or two that were retired from breeding after their 23rd year, live into their early 30's. I think my oldest mare was retired in her 27th year and she lived to 31. Though I've had mares live longer than that, that was pregnancy-aided.
To be clear, day-of-birth deaths is also the 17-year coding deaths.
