There is a ton of ads popping up in private messages as well. About roughly every 1-3 lines of text there's an ad or it seems like if you put a emoji down it will split up paragraphs to place down an advertisement. Its making it kind of difficult to ready messages from others at this point.

I am now getting the middle of screen video ads WITH a bottom of the screen banner ad.

I just started playing today and the footer ads have been incredibly invasive for me, sometimes taking up over 1/3 of the page. I immediately checked the premium features to see if it got rid of ads, so I definitely support adding that option, as I would've purchased it immediately if it meant no more ads. Most of them haven't been too bad, but I keep getting 1 video ad that pops up and auto plays as well as the one ad that takes up a large amount of the bottom of the screen.

Is it on a phone that you are experiencing this? Holding the phone in a landscape orientation? I've found portrait orientation to work a lot better on my tablet, ads included, but I'm not sure how tiny everything would be on a phone. I'm really not happy with auto play videos myself.

No, I only play on my PC desktop :/ I've uploaded 2 screenshots of the ads I've been getting. Today they are appearing in forum posts, and when you scroll past them, the ad that is actively playing on the forum follows you down the page.

Personally, I don’t like the idea of making ad-free premium accounts. This game isn’t supposed to be a pay-to-play (from what I’ve seen/understand), and I feel as though for a lot of people it would become that if a bunch of emphasis is placed on needing a premium account to have a good experience. I know a lot of people have busy lives they play this game in between (like myself between college and work) and I can’t afford premium rn personally and I feel as though plenty of players are in the same boat.

We don't want the experience for free accounts to be bad and understand the life of the game depends on everyone being able to play and enjoy the game. Recently we changed advertising partners and we are still working to improve the quality of ads and their placement on the game. We are only offering the ad free feature for paid subscription accounts because paying for a service and still seeing ads is a very bad experience. What we will not do is make the free game a worse experience than it otherwise would be in an effort to drive subscription sales. I can promise you that.

I've got some updated news on the ads situation. Our publisher has managed to finally remove the video ads from within forum posts, and we've setup a static ad slot for ads to appear after the first forum post, not within any posts. That being said though we are still working on getting the ads that appear after every image within a post removed. I'll keep you all updated as we get this issue resolved.

Today we have switched to a new advertising partner, on a trial basis. Previously we were using Google Adsense however we have limited control over how ads are automatically placed on the site when using Google Adsense. Our new partner should give us much more control, but it may take some time and tweaking to get the ads setup correctly.

Your feedback is super important! We absolutely do not want ads to be intrusive and give you a poor experience playing the game, so please let us know how you feel about the ad placement.

Currently we have setup one header ad, and one "sticky footer" ad which, at least on my end, does appear to hold two ads. The footer ad can be closed but most likely will re-open on a new page view.

Our goal with advertising is to have as minimal interruption to your gameplay as possible, while still generating revenue to keep the game running. We are also considering adding an ad-free experience to Premium Plus accounts.
