Re: Argent's Breeders' Report and Conformation Project Tracker
Soooo much progress with the broodmare band. My goal is six filled pastures of mares with high movement comments and green tempo, balance, and intelligence. I currently have four filled pastures of such mares, and two pastures of mares who are the same, except without the green intelligence. I also have two pastures of green tempo/balance/intelligence mares with lower movement comments. I expect I'll end up with many more mares than I'd hoped for by the time this project is complete.

Re: Argent's Breeders' Report and Conformation Project Tracker
For my locked broodmare herd, I'm up to five filled pastures of high movement, green movement/tempo/balance mares and two and a half pastures of lower movement, green movement/tempo/balance mares. I've also culled my active mare herd down to only high movement, green tempo/balance mares. I have two stallions left to use, and I expect many more exceptional horses to come my way. Once I have all of the mares I want, I will consider this project complete.

Re: Argent's Breeders' Report and Conformation Project Tracker
My final two stallions were surprisingly disappointing sires, so I have not acquired the last 18 or so mares I need. I'm going to have to cycle through my better studs a second time and add in some new guys. I've also culled my active mare herd further, and it will now consist entirely of mares with modest movement comments and greens in tempo, balance, and intelligence.

Re: Argent's Breeders' Report and Conformation Project Tracker
Thanks QHF
My breeders' report project is finally complete! I have selected the following stallions to reserve for my future Lipizzan or custom breed project.
Tier I stallions.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/farm/pasture/518
Tier II stallions.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/farm/pasture/10037
I also have over 100 high quality mares to show for my effort. At some point, I may revisit this project and replace the mares over 5 years old with individuals that are not over-aged, after which I will cull the herd down to 72 of the best possible horses.
Mares with high movement and green tempo, balance, and intelligence.

Those are like the HWO answer to the Welsh Corgi. Interesting body builds for sure! Though I do find it hard to believe that they would do ver good IRLArgent II wrote: Mares with high movement and green tempo, balance, and intelligence.

Aren't they hideous??? That's what happens when you breed long, lean Thoroughbreds to squat, beefy Belgians. Conformation is a separate project, which I'll start in on eventually. It was more important to get the breeders' reports correct first.

One sort of start to wonder what the guy evaluating the horses are actually smoking lolArgent II wrote:Aren't they hideous??? Re: Argent's Breeders' Report and Conformation Project Tracker
I couldn't give up the project with so many less-than-ideal mares, so now I'm pushing to improve the movement comments in my herd. No more "boy, moves well" or "moves with precision" mares, only " fine mover" and "easy on the eyes" mares, with a strong preference for low conformation. I haven't had any luck with the fillies, but this lovely little colt was born:
