Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

Re: Haflinger
Hey, ToiletWater! Cool that you want to jump onto the Haflinger trainToiletWater13 wrote:.

Ya could pursue both options, but to effectively add to the gene pool, you'd have to attempt the [Arabian x Forest Horse] x Noriker formula.
What's important to note as a new breeder on here, is that you might have to crossbreed a bit, since the Haflinger rate 13.0 - 14.2hh while its creation breeds are generally higher.
For instance, I got this Belgian x Shetland Pony mare and bred her to an Arabian stallion, producing this half Arabian filly. Breeding this filly to a Forest Horse later will result in a smaller cross better suitable for the project, and I'll prob have to do something similar with the Noriker .. then all you need to do is hope for the best x)
You could also use grade horses for the same purpose.
Otherwise cattus might be willing to relinquish a Haflinger or two

Re: Haflinger
Thank you very much! <3 I do intend to use that formula posted at the beginning of this thread. I'll do my best to contribute to the gene pool

Re: Haflinger
I am so, so sorry if writing two consecutive posts on this website is considered rude, but I have just discovered that the "Forest" breed listed here is most likely the New Forest Pony, rather than the Forest Horse, and I am not able to find one of those for sale so I'm assuming it's another breed I'll need a "formula" for. As soon as anyone who knows how I might breed this type of horse reads this message, might you please list that so that I can do it? I also apologize if that was also included under the original formula, if it's there I've unfortunately made a bit of an oversight.
Thank you in advance

Re: Haflinger
It is Forest Horse. If in doubt, for any breed, you can use the breed wiki under the help section to look up the "recipe". Here is the one for Haflingers.ToiletWater13 wrote:I have just discovered that the "Forest" breed listed here is most likely the New Forest Pony, rather than the Forest Horse

Re: Haflinger
My apologies, I am a child trying to make sense of the world ^^' Thank you for showing me the wiki, I really didn't realize there was one

Re: Haflinger
Hey guys!
Been keeping me hands dirty in this Haflinger project recently, and have managed to produce a couple of individuals; got a bunch of FH/Arabian/Noriker crosses that I'd put up on stud for ya, if anyone's interested and still breeding out there.
The one Haflinger colt I can stud at this very moment is this chap (unfortunately red in movement):
Konrad Aethe

Re: Haflinger
I do apologize for falling off the face of the earth for a while. Luckily, no loss of horses with the nifty feature that moves days manually.
I am thinning my herd of Haflingers. My stallions and colts are 80% Haflinger/Belgian. My mares and fillies are 100%. COI for all is fairly high, but I have no reds in any that are for sale.
Here's the list of who is available:
Stallions/Colts:
WCCA White Spear
, stallion
WCCA White Crow
, colt
Mares/Fillies:
WCCA Pink Model
, mare
WCCA Strawberry Blade
, mare
WCCA White Valley
, mare
WCCA White Ink
, mare
WCCA Pink Myth
, mare
WCCA White Mast
, filly
