I really like Troopers markings, he has the claw marks on his neck and I think he´ll end up having tiger stripes on his legs like his mom :)
One nice warrior :D and various dun-markings - I like <3

Nazarach wrote:So, in commemoration of a couple of uniquely colored Duns I recently noticed, I though I'd open a small competition for showing your most distinctive or unique Duns.

1st to 5th place (when enough people are interested/entered) will be getting some money and a breeding to any of my Stallions for free - while I don't have horses with particularly high HGP, I have some with really low COI and that may be something some breeders may appreciate.

The rules:
horses should possess

- Dun markings
- no Lp (cause varnish, bronzening tends to cover the markings)
- training sheens give extra points (notice the 'warrior' part? ;) )

- only one horse may be entered and it has to be owned or bred by you (entries with side accounts are ok, but I'd like a mention if you enter more than twice)
(I forgot to mention; warriors ain't just male, so any female warriors are naturally welcome as well ^^)

Prizes:

1st - 10.000 $
2nd - 7.500 $
3rd - 5.000 $
4th - 2.500$
5th - 1.000$

(when you've won put up an unbred/foalless horse you don't need and link the stallion you want a breeding of)

The contest will end with tuesday, 8pm next week (11.12.) and the placements will be up on the 12th.

So, have fun and show everyone your primal warriors :D

And here's my other entry!

I was looking through all my dark duns/grullos for who my favorite might be, but I just kept coming back to this guy. He's actually one of my very first horses on this site, dug up out of my original account that I've just recently gone back to (that's the Redpyre one). It's an account that I'd opened years ago, played around with, and then pretty much forgot about when I moved on to this one. Going back to it was like opening a time capsule, but I found this guy in there and fell in love with him all over again.

I think he's the darkest dun I've ever had by far. I love how his coloration make his eyes look brighter, almost red, and I've always pictured him as a mean dude. I'd even named him after one of my favorite nasty Star Trek characters, haha.

So, even though Emperor is my favorite entry, I couldn't leave this old boy out of the fun.

I love these dark Bays, they look somehow velvety to me :3 And he is also quite nice with lots of dun-markings ^v^

Results are out!

So, I had a hard time deciding - and I mean REALLY hard; because of this I came to the conclusion that I would have double placements (fear not, regardless of solo or double placement, you will get the prizes for every horse - menaing, 2 horses are 2nd: every horse gets you 7.5k and a breeding).
I hope that cleared any confusion up :)

Going on then;

the overall winner and 1st place of this contest is:

really nice Dun-markings and a shiny training sheen (and these cute fluffs) made her the winner, she reminds me a bit of a little war horse ^^
Congratz! 10k for you and a breeding to any stallion you might be interested in :)

2nd place is shared between:
redster wrote:.
Emperor

and

Garak

of redster
Emperor has such fierce-looking Dunmarks but, while metallic, lacks the training of a true warrior ;) Garak also has a beautifull Dun coat but, though better than Emperor is also lacking in the training apartment; nonetheless they are equally nice Dun-warriors so,
Congratz for 2nd place, 7.5k for each (makes 15k) and two breedings to any stallions for free (you can also choose one of my alternate account, link in profile)
