Re: Favorite Horse World Online Horses
Very dark sooty chestnut with flaxen. Well, hopefully they'll save a full picture of it soon.
Such a shame, this horse was rehomed...

Re: Favorite Horse World Online Horses
[quote="BlackOak2"]Not really a color save, but a rather unique progression and display of the bug error for training... I think. I don't think this is a bug error for color aging. It's a horse with an id that's very, very old.

Chestnut
Firefly's color starts out as a vivid chestnut. Given how "old" he is, the later images could have been made in early 2016, when there was a browser bug that caused faded-looking, grayish body colors. You can see it in the Age 6.96 Years image of this horse:

Just for fun I traced Firefly's pedigree. Here's his "oldest" ancestor, Avrum, an AC Arabian:

Here's the oldest active horse I can find, "Break the Stars", an AC Belgian posted for stud:

Browsing the stud pages is fascinating!

Here are a few favorites. I like champagnes and subtle shadings, including roans.
Oreo, a part Friesian bred by natsumex. I think he's Sooty Silver Perlino:

[NYR] Beyond Gold, an Arabian bred by nyraeia. He's Sooty Silver Gold Champagne with Tiger Eye:

The sooty was late in appearing . When I bred from him, Beyond Gold looked more like one of his many sons, Autumn Sunrise:

Summer Dancer: this mare is the progeny of Yuletide Dancer, a (Tarpan x West African Barb) stallion, and Summer Moon, an AC North African Barb. Given that Dancer is a Buckskin and Moon was a Cremello, I wondered if their filly would be Palomino. Instead she is this fascinating bay roan:

Finally, Little Daystar, a Grade stallion bred by Blostma, Silver Smoky Cream with blue eyes:
