I just moved to a farm, planning on getting an arab, but before that, I rode lesson horses. Rode on grey that I swear, lived in it's poop. I would spend half of the time at the barn grooming him!

Yeah. XD One thing I've never been able to get is why one has to wear white jods at a show. Is it a test on our ability to keep clean. A (stupid) tradition? Are the judges observing how much we fall off and put care into our horses? Clean being the rider getting a someone else do all the work on their horse, moderately dirty means that the rider looks after their horse and covered in dirt/sand means that they're prone to falling off.stephanie111 wrote:I know.Well, I am moving in a few days to a ranch, and when I look for horses, greys won't be on the top of the list!
What riding do you do? English, Western, trick-riding?

Re: Most Beautiful Horses!!!!!
I do English, used to do eventing, but switched to jumping when my trainer told me I was better suited to something that was less "rough". Eventing was a whole different story, you wear a big vest, so no matter how dirty you are, it'll be ok. I get your entire "white" thing.Malakai20 wrote:Yeah. Awesome! Show-jumping's my favourite, Teal loves it, too!stephanie111 wrote:I do English, used to do eventing, but switched to jumping when my trainer told me I was better suited to something that was less "rough". I totally feel the white breeches/jods thing, it makes it quite embarrassing when I fall....
Eventing... jeesh, that's - how do I describe it? Brave? Daring? My mum won't let me anywhere near a cross-country course. Closest I got was when she said I could do stadium eventing, 'though I never got round to that...
I think braiding is used to emphasize the shape of the horse's neck. Maybe I'm wrong...

Glad to find some other show-jumpers on here!
My definition of eventing:
Riding your horse through woods in a protective vest trying not to die. That's literally what I did!
Lol, stadium eventing?

Re: Most Beautiful Horses!!!!!
Yeah, I've never braided a horse that didn't move.stephanie111 wrote:Ug. Never will get braiding!

Me too!
That sounds like the perfect definition from what I've been told!
That's what my mum called it. *shrugs*
