Re: Anyone else do Chickens?
Our neighbor sadly passed away and he had a small flock of free range chickens that we have sort of been adopted by. They were spending time in our yard so we started feeding them and they lay their eggs in our yard now. We are building them some small coops for when they visit and i think that we are going to get some more birds of our own. We love the eggs. Our rooster is a very cute bantam of some kind who we call Napoleon and the hens are all Rhode Island Reds.

Re: Anyone else do Chickens?
I have had chickens over the years. Did some showing for 4H and now I just have two wee hens. A partridge silkie named Dorothy and an english game bantam named Lambchop. Good luck with your new flock, hands down best pets you could ask for.

Re: Anyone else do Chickens?
My family had a little flock of Bantam Cochins when I was a kid. They were basically just pets (Bantam Cochin eggs are teeny and mostly yolk, not great for eating). It started with two hens, Popcorn and Henny Penny, who were basically my pets. They were surprisingly tame little birds!

My mother have chickens, I don't know how many there is... I'm a chicken sitter whenever they are away, so I call them mine from time to time
'We' have a guinea fowl rooster, a brahma rooster, a sablepoot rooster and a sussex rooster. No fighting between the roosters other than the sablepoot being the lowest of lowest in the whole flock. He's my fav but they will probably sell him, or something... Then there's 5 jungle hens, 2 sussex hens, 3-4 lohman hens (retired industrial egg producers), an unknown hen plus 12 chickens where just two seems to be roosters. Have pictures of them here.
